The Boys & Girls Clubs’ Mission:
To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
The Boys & Girls Club in Ferndale Wa opened in 2011, providing a place where children can have fun, be safe , and take part in educational programs.In order to fulfill the Boys & Girls Clubs mission, children need to want to come to the Clubs.
We were asked to create a new space that looks fun, functions like a Club and provide the Community with a new space for athletics and special events.
Club Program:
- Provide a large multi-use building on a small site, in a 100 hundred year flood zone, that is welcoming to children
- Open room for play
- Area for teens
- Art and Education rooms
- Commercial kitchen
- Community Gym
- Provide easy visibility into all rooms for staff
The Community got behind this and the Club’s membership tripled in its first year.
